Six time zones, provinces that keep or change their clocks, and a CAD quote in writing: what Canadian families should agree before a trial.
To arrange online Quran lessons in Canada, give the coordinator your city, the lesson date and your preferred local time. Canada spans six time zones and not every province changes its clocks, so "Canadian evening" is not specific enough to book a class.
Six time zones, one family timetable
Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Halifax and St. John's each keep a different local clock. Newfoundland is a useful reminder that a time difference is not always a whole number of hours: it runs half an hour ahead of Atlantic time. Write your actual city in the enquiry rather than choosing the nearest large city from a list. The Canada scheduling guide converts a proposed lesson time for the date you choose.
Check the season, not only today's difference
Most of Canada moves its clocks back on the first Sunday in November and forward again in March. Most of Saskatchewan does not change its clocks, so a family in Regina keeps the same local time all year. If the teacher is in a country that does not observe daylight saving, the gap between your clock and the teacher's clock can shift by an hour twice a year. Try your preferred lesson time on a date before and after the change, and ask which clock the recurring appointment follows.
Fit lessons around school and work
For children, an after-school slot usually needs time to arrive home, eat and settle. Suggest one weekday window and one weekend alternative if that suits your household. Adult learners can describe shift work, study or caring duties that affect availability. These are preferences for the conversation; they are not a guarantee that a particular hour or teacher is free.
Agree the course before the quote
The course, number of lessons each week and lesson length decide which package fits. A beginner who cannot yet read Arabic letters usually starts with Noorani Qaida; a learner who reads slowly may suit Quran reading with Tajweed. Ask for the fee in Canadian dollars, how payment works and how rescheduling is handled, and keep the answer in writing. A conversion you calculate yourself is only an estimate, not the college's quote. Prices on the pricing page can be shown in your local currency as an approximate guide.
Teacher preference and parent involvement
If you prefer a female or male teacher, say so on the form and ask what is currently available for your time slot and teaching language. For a child, agree how the lesson link is shared, how a parent can sit in and whom to contact with a concern. Lessons are online; the college does not run a Canadian branch or classroom.
Choose how you want to be contacted
The trial form asks for a WhatsApp number and an email address so a coordinator can follow up about your enquiry. Use the number your family actually checks, include the country code (+1), and say if you prefer one channel.
A short checklist before the trial
- City, lesson date and preferred local time, written together.
- The learner's current level, with a short example of what they can read.
- Teacher preference and teaching language.
- Course, lessons per week and the CAD quote in writing.
When you are ready, request a free trial with your Canada details. The 3-day trial applies to eligible plans; the Weekend plan is excluded.
